Three Ways to Support Families of Children with Chronic Illnesses

Investment bank Laidlaw & Co has a rich 170-year history of helping its clients’ by growing their wealth. Based in New York, Laidlaw & Co supports various charities, including Julia’s Butterfly Foundation in North Haledon, New Jersey.

Julia’s Butterfly Foundation is a nonprofit on a mission to assist families with chronically or terminally ill children. The foundation honors the memory of Julia Marie Bommer, who died in 2005 at age 6 after a brave battle with a rare kidney disease.

Julia’s Butterfly Foundation relies on donations from well-wishers to further its mission. There are many ways to donate to the foundation. Here are three:

- Send contributions directly to the nonprofit. Donations can be sent through the mail or online.

- Sign up for AmazonSmile. People who shop on Amazon can donate 0.5 percent of the purchase price on their products to Julia’s Butterfly Foundation.

- TD Bank Affinity Membership Program. TD Bank donates to Julia’s Butterfly Foundation based on a client’s average account balance at the end of the year. Just open an account with the bank and link the account to the foundation.
